Craving is a dating app that emphasizes communication, safety, and sex positivity through secure messaging, robust reporting, compatibility matrix, etc. Our team currently consists of a handful of students and a few advisors (professionals). We're looking to build our team so we can aim to finish the MVP of the product by next spring. Maybe Valentine's Day? 💘 (we don't encourage crunch time here tho, so if it takes longer then it does 🤷🏼♀️)
We're not asking for too much from people who want to join Craving's team. After all, this is meant to be a stepping stone for you to achieve the position you actually want to have. (FAANG maybe?) We're mostly looking for passion, initiative, transparency, and willingness to learn. We also hope you can commit to at least 5 hours of work a week, including our one weekly meeting. You can be in any school, major, background, or skill level. We even accept beginners and help them learn new languages and grow as a developer through tutoring and shadowing.
Your job will be to help create the MVP, but it's up to you which tasks you take on. It's a mobile app currently using React Native and Firebase. You'll get to learn a lot of things with us, so you don't have to be proficient in those technologies. Some experience with Javascript will help, but we have weekly coworking/office hours as some of our teammates are learning the language.
